Clinical Utility Consulting Operations Affected Today by Palo Alto Power Outage

A major power outage in Palo Alto, apparently caused by a small plane crash in East Palo Alto, is affecting operations at Clinical Utility Consulting, LLC today.  We may be a bit slow to respond to inbound communication.

Clinical Utility Consulting: Doing Well on Google and Bing So Far

It's nice to see that, shortly after launch, the website is already doing great - ending up prominently on the first page for Google and Bing searches for "Clinical Utility" (4th and 3rd positions respectively this afternoon).

Clinical Utility Consulting: Now On goBalto

One of the most challenging and inefficient aspects of the modular nature of today's partnering-driven drug and diagnostic development world is the process of finding the right partner.  Recently, web-based marketplaces for IT, engineering, design, and other types of technical and creative talent have emerged at places like Elance, Innocentive, and oDesk.  These companies have taken note of other pioneering examples of web-based efficient marketplaces and transformed the process of looking for contract help. 

Similar examples have begun to crop up in the biotech and pharma space and may be particularly well-timed in light of big pharma's flight from in-house R&D and move toward modular partnering for drug development and other needs.  For example, San Diego-based Assay Depot now bills itself as "the world's largest online marketplace for drug discovery research services."  I took an in-depth look at the site today and came away very impressed.

San Francisco-based goBalto is another exciting new online marketplace that has much potential to increase the efficiency of finding qualified partners.  After perusing gobalto.com today,I decided to list Clinical Utility Consulting, LLC as one of the service providers in their online marketplace.  It seems like an ideal place for small, boutique consultancies to find engagements well-suited to their talents.
