Matt Mealiffe, M.D. - Founder and Principal
Matt Mealiffe is Founder and Principal at Clinical Utility Consulting, LLC, a consultancy focused on strategy, clinical research and medical affairs in the biotech, digital health and online health information spaces. Dr. Mealiffe is a high energy, entrepreneurial and results-oriented physician biotech executive with more than a decade of post-M.D. experience at the intersection of clinical medicine, genomics, and molecular diagnostics.
Previously, Dr. Mealiffe was Director, Clinical Research and, subsequently, Senior Director, Medical Affairs at Perlegen Sciences, Inc., a pioneering biotech company in genomic medicine. He came to Perlegen from a faculty position at the University of Washington (in the Department of Medicine, Division of Medical Genetics) where he was an Attending Physician in the Adult Medical Genetics Clinic and conducted research focused on the human genetics of Hodgkin's lymphoma risk supported by a Doris Duke Charitable Foundation Clinical Scientist Development Award.
Dr. Mealiffe was educated at Stanford University (B.S., Biological Sciences) and the Yale University School of Medicine, where he received his M.D.. His residency training in Internal Medicine and clinical fellowship training in Clinical Genetics were both conducted in the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington. Dr. Mealiffe is a member of the American Society of Human Genetics and the BayBio 2010 Advisory Board and is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Clinical Genetics.
